The VIVA presentation

The VIVA presentation is the last assessment for the Critical Literacy subject where we have to prepare a presentation on one of the four articles that had been given during our second assignment. This assessment had help me a lot in delivering a good presentation even though I was not quite good. The article that I chose is the article "The Jews and Their Deceits" written by Adolf Hitler. I chose this article because I agree with Adolf Hitler saying that the Jews are deceit as we can see these days. They are hiding something that other people do not know unless they are Jews. After I presented my stands, there are lots of comments about my slide show for instance my voice projection is hardly to hear, not enough evidence or supporting ideas, body gesture, and also eye contact. I admit my mistakes but in the future I will improve and make my presentations more better.

Thank to Sir Kamaraziz for all the knowledges that you have taught me during classes.

10 things I hate about Jews

  1. They are deceits
  2. The control of the global economy
  3. They are allied with the US
  4. I hate their nose
  5. Mass media propaganda
  6. The gangster vampire state of Israeli
  7. They always hungry for power
  8. They only share their feelings and thoughts among other Jews
  9. They always hide their agenda in order to success in controlling the world...and finally
  10. Because I'm a Muslim, and I hate what Jews did to my friends in Palestine.

The Animal Farm Movie

Animal Farm, is based on a novel written by George Orwell. Published in England on 17 August 1945, the book reflects events leading up to and during the Stalin era before World War II. Orwell, a democratic socialist and a member of the Independent Labour Party for many years, was a critic of Joseph Stalinand was suspicious of Moscow-directed Stalinism after his experiences with the NKVD during the Spanish Civil War. In a letter to Yvonne Davet, Orwell described Animal Farm as his novel "contre Stalin". When Sir Kamaraziz played this movie in front of the class, the first thing I say in the class is "disgusting" because it is a movie about a 'pig' and its commandments. the beginning of the movie is the animals are under the rule of Old Major, the old boar of Manor Farm calls for a meeting with all the animals before he died accidentally take a shot by the drunken owner Mr. Jones. After the death of Old Major, Snowball and Napoleon took place in rebuild the farm and gain full control of the farm by expelling all the human being and rename the farm as Animal Farm. There are 7 commandments which are:

  1. Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy
  2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
  3. No animal shall wear clothes.
  4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.
  5. No animal shall drink alcohol.
  6. No animal shall kill any other animal.
  7. All animals are equal.

However, at the end Napoleon gain full control after he cooperate with the human for his own sake and also to Mr. Frederick. Many animals including Boxer the horse were traded for Napoleon's alcohols. The leader uses his society just for the sake of himself and it has happen in our society.

Islamophobia

Islamophobia, means fear of Muslims, hatred of Muslims, or a desire to limit the civil liberties of Muslims. This word corresponds to sexism, racism, homophobia, and xenophobia in areas related to gender, race, sexual orientation and nationality. It is often caused by a person attributing the actions of a few extreme, violent, Fundamentalist Muslim terrorists to the entire population of Muslims. Islamophobia is actually a new term after the tragedy of September 11 where the World Trade Center (WTC) was attacked and the US blamed that it was the Muslims. When I watch the video in the class showed by Sir Kamaraziz, I understand that these Islamophobia people actually did not want the Muslims to build a mosque at Ground Zero. This is because they did not want that place to be a place where Muslims can gather around. It does not make sense at all and I did not agree with the term "Islamophobia".

Superstiton

Superstition is a credulous belief or notion, not based on reason or knowledge. The word is often used pejoratively to refer to folk beliefs deemed irrational, which is appropriate since irrational means "not based on reason". This leads to some superstitions being called "old wives' tales". It is also commonly applied to beliefs and practices surrounding luck, prophecy and spiritual beings, particularly the irrational belief that future events can be foretold by specific unrelated prior events. It is also a belief in spite of evidence or without evidence. Superstition was an out-dated method of teaching the young during the period of our ancestors. One of Malays' superstition is "do not sit on a pillow, or else you will get boil on your posterior".

Mnemonic

Applying mnemonic is the best way to remember things easily. For example, there are 10 things to remember in order to apply the rule of 10, Topic, Content, Source, Audience, Rhetorical function, Purpose, Perspective, Positioning, Impact and Visual literacy.

I have applied my own mnemonic in order to remember the rule of 10 and it sounds like this:

3. Source

4. Audience

5. Rhetorical function

6. Purpose
